Education, Training & Employment — a route back into positive destinations.

PUCIC’s ETE Re-Engagement Programme supports young people aged 11–24 across Birmingham who may be disengaged from education, at risk of becoming NEET, experiencing the effects of trauma or facing other barriers to development.

The supplied programme update describes routes into returning to education, enrolling in training, gaining qualifications, securing employment and exploring career pathways.

The 2026 ETE programme update states that participants can work towards AQA Unit Awards and Maths and English qualifications, alongside structured learning and practical activities.

  • AQA-accredited units including anger management, personal action planning, resilience, mentoring and personal development.
  • Maths and English as important building blocks for personal and professional progression.
  • Recognised evidence of achievement across communication, teamwork, leadership and employability skills.

Existing PUCIC programme information describes mentoring as sustained personal support, with a personal development plan that helps a mentee and mentor set goals and measure progress together.
